John Edward Rudder (son of Samuel Rudder and Anne Mumford)¹¹⁵⁷ was born February 03, 1757 in Lunenburg Co., VA¹¹⁵⁸, and died 1840 in Halifax County, VA¹¹⁵⁸. He married (1) Martha Patsy Garrett on December 15, 1779 in Lunenburg Co., VA^{1159, 1160}. He married (2) Susanah Richardson on December 01, 1800 in Halifax County, VA¹¹⁶¹.

Bernice Rudder has Date of Birth as 2/1/1757

As per Tom Rudder:

John Rudder apparently died in 1802 because the appraisal of his estate was held on the 18th of Jan. 1803 in Lunenburg Co. If there was another John Rudder who died in 1840 - there must have been 2 Johns.

Will book 17, pages 238-239 in Halifax Co., Va Court house. In the name of God, I John Rudder of Halifax Co., knowing it was one appointed to die and being of sound mind made his Last Will. In it he named his children: Edward M., Charles, Nancy, Elizabeth Sublett, Polly (Mary) Minnix, Meaky Barton, Susannah.
