Joel Joseph Ferguson Rudder (son of Alexander Rudder and Sarah Elizabeth Brooks)¹¹³⁷ was born October 15, 1804 in Knox County, TN^{1138, 1139}, and died August 20, 1873 in Knox County, TN. He married (1) Ellen T. Nance on Abt. 1830¹¹³⁹. He married (2) Sarah Adaline Camp on April 06, 1836 in Knox, Co., TN¹¹⁴⁰.

Notes for Joel Joseph Ferguson Rudder:
On May 3, 1847, Joel, age 45, appeared in Knox Co., TN as administrator of the estate of Epaphroditus Rudder. He stated that he (Joel) was the son of Robert Rudder, nephew of Epaphroditus Rudder. The soldier, died in SC without wife or issue & left Robert Rudder (his father) one of the heirs.
