Notes for George Chambers: Will of Jacob Chambers, Oct. 1847, town of Kingston, County of Ulster: "First I dogive and devise to my son George and his heirs and issue for everall those two certain lots of land, being the un-devided half of said lots lying in Marbletown afforesaid, the one situated at or near Stone Ridge, the other being part of a certain tract of land called Rough Vly, as the same was conveyed to me and said George by Thomas Wygant and Hannah his wife containing in all Seventy three acres as by said conveyance will appear, Excepting part of said lot of land was near StoneRidge first above mentioned my undivided half of the dwelling house thereon, with door yards and one vegetable garden adjoining and near said house including the well of water and privy to and for the use and benefit of my daughter Estira during her natural life and after her death the same to go to my son George and his heirs and issues forever." Dr. George Chambers was a surveyor of eminence, a representative in the legislature, 1836; a state senator, a Mason of high degree. He lived in Stone Ridge, NY. A lofty marble shaft was erected to his memory at his grave in Rochester cemetery near Kyserike, NY.
