      3. Armelda Baker, born 10 Feb 1856 in Baker Mt., TN; died 01 Aug 1949 in Winfield, Scott, TN. She was the daughter of 6. William Hiram Baker and 7. Elizabeth Davis.

Notes for Lindsay B Chitwood:
Lindsay Brassfield Chitwood is buried in the Winfield TN, Chitwood Cem, along with Armelda. Row 5, Lots 24 & 24. He was a farmer, and according to census records, could read and write, while Meldie could do neither. Lindsay's middle name is Brassfield according to his grandson, George Chitwood, the surname Brassfield was from his mother's line. He also named a son Lindsay Brassfield Chitwood.

Notes for Armelda Baker:
Armelda (Baker) Chitwood was suppose to be related to Sen. Howard Baker Sr. The connection has not been proven. However, a William Baker is connected to Howard's line and in early records William Hirum Baker went by Hirum and Billy, later he used the name William Baker Sr., leading one to guess that his father's name was William and he didn't care for the designation of Jr. so used his middle name or nickname. Bill Dahlan Chitwood, a great grandson of Lindsey and Meldie (Baker) Chitwood, also had heard of the Howard Baker family connection but didn't know how.

Sen. Howard Baker, Jr., married Sen. Nancy Kasselbalm c 1992. Nancy was a Senator from Kansas.

Notes for Barney Chitwood:
Barney and Nancy (Blankenship) Chitwood are buried at the Douglas II Cemetery (near Oswego), in Section B. They are buried near Barney's brother, John Q. "Dock" Chitwood and his wife, Nancy Belle "Nannie" (Bridges). They had six boys and five girls, plus two other children who died in early childhood.
