The Chiles family moved to Wichita,Ks in 1953. Willie (Bill) and Murlee Chiles and their first three children, Levell, Dennis and Mary Ann came in search of a new beginning. They lived on the westside (which is now where the county jail is). The Old Calvary Baptist Church the oldest black church is yet standing suround by the county jail;it has been made a Historical Landmark. Their other nine children were born in Wichita; Allen, Gail, Anthony, Willie M., Joyce, David, Fred, Curtis, and Tammy (who was stillborn).

I am reaching my family history - Chiles/Lyday-Shepard (dad)Pierce/Brooks (mom. I have found a lot of information on both sides but yet looking for more to connect all the pieces. Take a look around enjoy. If you have pieces of this pizzle - please connect.

This year 2007 Wichita will host the Crabtree/Sheppard Family Reunion June 22 - 23 at the Holiday Inn Select Kellogg & Rock Road
