George John Chidgey of Sydney Australia

My wife Elizabeth & I started research on the Chidgey's in Australia in about 1978. We held our first reunion in May 1982 and then in 1984 we published a book "The Chidgey Family History - The Early Years in Australia" ISBN 0 9591282 0 4.
Two further reunions were held,1984 to launch the book and 1996.

There are several so far unconnected branches of Chidgeys in Australia. George John (B. 1815 Plumbstead London)and his brother Joseph Luke arrived in 1832. Another brother and sister arrived later. A Benjamin Chidgey (B. 1837 Bristol Eng) also arrived in Victoria and is so far unconnected.
We are in contact with Brian Chidgey, Desmond Chidgey and Vic Chidgey in the UK.
We are still searching for those elusive connections with the other branches in the UK that might tie Benjamin and George together and the few family members that went to other parts of the world.
