Lyon in Me: The Monroe Lyon(s) of Chickasaw Co, MississippiUpdated April 2, 2013 |
I'm researching THE MONROE LYON(s) FAMILY that Lived in CHICKASAW COUNTY,TUPELO,OKLONA & HOUSTON,MISSISSIPPI. He married (1) RACHEL PULLIAM (GGGM) in Chickasaw County, Ms. Rachel and Monroe had a son,(James Monroe Lyons)known as "MACK LYONS", My Great Grandfather. She died and he married NORA MORRISON (Morse,or Morris). IN 1900, I found Nora as Head of Household in Omaha,Texas. Monroe had died earlier. They are both buried now in WHITE OAK CEMETERY in Omaha, Texas. I had a Great Aunt Esora Lyons Savage, who was alive and knew quite a bit about the LyonS family, and that's the reason I have more research on the Lyons-Morrison Line. My GreatGFather's Maternal side,The Pulliams, is a WORK IN PROGRESS for me; However, I do think that perhaps I've found a link to Rachel's family thru a man named Anderson Pulliam. The descendants of "Mack Lyons" have a reunion in Paris, Lamar, Texas, every 2nd Sunday in August, and a Decoration Day is observed the SATURDAY, BEFORE the 1ST SUNDAY in May, regardless of the date, in Mt.Pleasant, Texas, at the PINEY CEMETERY out in Talco Community. |
