My grandfather was Emerson Eli Alexander Childers, b. Mar 9, 1871 in Alexander County, NC. His father was James Harvey Childers, b Nov 18, 1841 in Alexander County, NC. James' father was Peter Ambrose Childers, b. Mar 22, 1818 in Alexander County, NC. Peter's father was James W. Childers, b. 1776 in SC.

My father nicknamed "Gus" married Alma Elizabeth Jones b. Nov 25, 1896 in Walton County, GA. This marriage produced 13 children. Those children are:

During the children's younger years the Gus Childers family lived in northern Mecklenburg county, NC in the Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson area.

I am married to the former Helen Louise Davenport from Mt Airy, NC. We have 3 children:
