1. Family Tree of Jules-Albert Cholet provided from Greg Sholette's trip to Quebec 1998.
2. Book written by Jean Baptiste Proulx about Pierre Cholet's life, L'enfant perdu et retrouvé ou Pierre Cholet, in 1886 when story is told, Hyacinthe is listed as being 88 years old. However, this would place his date of birth as 1798 one year before his parents were married. More likely that he was born later and not quite that old. see date of death source for more accurate analysis, giving most likely year as 1802. Exact date of Dec 13, 1803 was given by Jeannine Liboiron in letter to me.
3. Book written by Jean Baptiste Proulx about Pierre Cholet's life, L'enfant perdu et retrouvé ou Pierre Cholet, book says Hyacinthe, Pierre's father was still alive when story was told (1886), aged 88; letter from Jeannine Laferriere gives his death date as Jan 5, 1894 in St. Polycarpe at age 91. This makes his date of birth between Jan 6, 1802 and Jan 5, 1803.

Centre de Genealogie; 240, Rue Daly; Ottawa, Ont.; KIN 6G2, Mariages du Compte de Soulanges, (July 1977), p93, This refere4nce to the marriage of Hyacinthe to Angelique Andre indicates that Hyacinthe was a widower, whose previous wife was Rose Liboiron. However, her name was known to me prior to this from Art Bordine. Later in this same reference, it shows that Hyacinthe married Rose Burond on Feb 23, 1824.The date and first name fits for this to be the same person. In fact, while the reference shows Hyacinthe, spouse of this Rose Burond, to be the son of Francois and Judith Milisse, it does not definitely indicate that this is the same Hyacinthe who married Rose Liboiron and Angelique Andre. This refeence also indicates that Rose Burond's parents were Thimothé and M-Louise Goulait. However, based on the documents obtained by Greg Sholette from St. Polycarpe and the lineage of Jules Cholet, he is clearly Pierre Cholet (the lost child)'s uncle, and hence the same Hyacinthe Cholet's brother. Therefore, this must be the same Hyacinthe and the two Rose's must be the same person.. In fact, it is most likely that BUROND is simply an error by the genealogist who transcribed the records and it should really be LIBOIRON. (note the many letters which are the same.) Subsequently on the Associated Genealogists web site of Drouin, I found that in that time frame, there was the married couple, Thimothé Liboiron and Marie-Louise Goulet. Since these names match almost exactly those given for Rose "Burond's" parents, it further confirms that this was an error in transcription and the name was really Liboiron.Later I found that Burond and variations of it were commonly used for Liborion and the name may have been l'Biron or something like that.

Centre de Genealogie; 240, Rue Daly; Ottawa, Ont.; KIN 6G2, Mariages du Compte de Soulanges, (July 1977), Citation says that Hyacinthe Cholet son of Francois and Judith Milisse married Rose Burond, daughter of Timotlée and M.-Louise Goulait on 23-02-1824. this is all typed so the legibility is not an issue in this copy. However, I have assumed that the last name of Rose is incorrect and that BUROND should really be LIBOIRON. This was confirmed to be correct by looking at web stie of Drouin's at Associated Genealogists' web site (http://epf.planete.qc.ca) which lists Thimothé Liborion married to Louise Goulet on Feb 1, 1796 in Vandreuil.This marriage is also shown in LDS film 1028342, both in the index and the actual record on p 118 for 1824. It clearly shows the name being Rose Bourond in the index, and less clearly this way in the actual record. However, since later she is shown as Rose Liboiron, it is clear this is her name. Bourond is a variatin of Liboiron. Letter from Jeannine Laferriere indicdaters marriage contract was by Jos. Maillou on Feb 7, 1824.
6. See source for date of death, This source indicates her age at death as 32. However, letter from Jeannine Laferriere indicates exact birth date as May 20, 1802, as well as her baptism on that date. This means she was 33 when she died in 1836.

Jbarrtroy@aol.com ; another email, later: tsholette@hotmail.com, e-mail from relative, From Bob Montroy's cousin in Ottawa, He quoted newspaper as saying Hyacinthe Cholet, son of Hyacinthe and Rose Liboiron was married to Angelique St. Amand on this date. However, from the book, "l'enfant perdu et retrouvre ou Pierre Cholet" it appears that this was the same man, married to a second wife in 1838. See also reference from Yvon Massicote (http://cafe.rapidus.net/ymassico/) which shows Hyacinthe , as François' son, maried Angelique Andre Jan 16, 1838. This confusion is cleared up by use of the st. Polycrpe microfilm record which clearly states on p 168 M-4 1838 that on Feb 16, Hyacinthe Cholet, widower of Rose Liboiron, married Angelique André dit Amant, daughter of Jean Baptiste André and Angelique Lefebvre dit Lariserois. Reference on Marriages of Soulange also shows this fact, but has marriage date as Jan 16, 1838.

87. www.collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/020122_e.html, 1901 Ontario Census, Sch 1 page 8 for Charlottenburg, Glengarry (which includes St. Raphael's) shows that Pierre was living in St. Raphael's Village with the family of Joseph Bissonnette, age 70, his wife Christine, age 63 and their three children. Pierrre is listed as a lodger, and widower. Date of birth is listed as Jan 1, 1841, age 60 born in Quebec, a carpenter working 12 months per year and having earned 200 (dollars, I suppose) from his trade. It says he can speak English, French and read and write. See next reference for more on possible death date.

89. J.-B. Proulx, "L'infant Perdue et Retrouve ou Pierre Cholet", 1982 Fides, Montreal, From the book, a daughter was mentioned born to Pierre and his wife, Anna Levac. I dated it that she was born about 1884, but next reference gives full date, as being in 1886. Of course, this could have been a second daughter.

It stated: Cholette, Marie Milina 15 months died July 30, 1887 in St. Polycarpe...Pierre Cholette, Marie Ann Levasque. Although this death is listed for St. Polycarpe, to my knowledge there is no cemetery marker there for Marie Emilina. Since her father Pierre worked as sexton at St. Anne De Prescott church, perhaps she is buried there.

This confirms the information from the book on the Lost Child, Pierre Cholet, that he had a sister, known in the book only as Mrs. Isidore Hamelin.

297. Inferences based on First Communion records and personal information from William Cholette, LDS Film 1450739 item 1 p72, "Adelord Cholet, age 13, First Communion on 22 June 1890." Based on this fact and the birthday of Dec 14, I conclude that his birth year was 1876, not 1877 as both William Cholette (his son) and Carol Sholette had in his Genealogy Report. Somewhat amazingly, his tombstone gives 1875 as his date of birth, but I believe this, too, is wrong.. Some of this is also validated by fact that Adelord's sister, Christina was born in Jan 1878 which would not have been possible if Adelord was born in Dec 1877. Location of birth as Three Rivers is indicated by Carol Sholette, which was where his father was born. However, I searched the baptismal records from Trois Rivieres and found no Cholette's between 1871 and 1876. Note, also, older sister, Alphonsine was baptized in Ogdensburg. How did this come about? It appears the family moved back to Quebec for some time after her birth. Place is still unknown. See next source which indicates year might have been 1875 afterall.

299. LDS film 1302033 and 034 for Catholic Church in Trois Rivieries, Qc, Carol Sholette's records implied that Adelord, like Magloire, was born in Trois Rivieres. However, I looked at the LDS microfilms for the Immaculate Conception parish there for the years 1871-1876 and found no Cholette's at all listed there. I did not find George Cholette either, although Magloire's birth would have been too early for these films.

334. 1881 Census record, shows him as 1 year old, living in Gatineau. Identified him based on siblings, who later on were godparents to his children in Ogdensburg. I used 1879 as most likely birth year, based on his young age at marriage. In 1900 census, birth date is given as Mar 1880.
