7. Birth certificfate, from Campobasso, obtained June, 2000, June 7, 1822: Pasquale, age 25, son of Giacomo Giannone, occupation blacksmith, presents a male born of Francesca Paola, daughter of Pasquale Socci, age 22, living in Colletorto;. son's name: Giacomo Antonio.

It listed her mother as Rachael Petrenere and her father as Giacomo Giannone. This conflicts with the death record of Pasquale Giannone which said his father was Racheld Giannone. Later, I obtained the birth records of Pasquale Giannone which showed his parents as: Giacomo Giannone and Rachele Pietronigro, which is the more correct spelling of her last name.
9. Birth certificfate, Jan 16, 1832 Giovanni, age 24, son of Giuseppe Pietronigro, occupation laborer, presented a female, born of Costanza d'Ononfrio, age 22. Infant's name is Rachele.

11. www.ellisislandrecords.org, Ellis Island Records, in looking for Guiseppe Giannone's record, I found traveling with him, Teodoro Giannone, age 24 from Colletorto, who went to visit his brother Guiseppe at 59 West St, Auburn, NY, arriving on the ship Lombardia in NY on June 28, 1906. Since the only known Guiseppe Giannone in Auburn was this Joseph at 59 West St, it undoubtedly was him.
12. LDS microfilm 1355651 for Sant'elia a Pianisi (1845-1858), Based on age given in death certificate, his birth woud have been in 1855; however, I obtained birth certificate for him from Campobasso giving his birth and baptism for April 16, 1853. This also gives the names of his parents, as Giacomo, age 33, occupation peasant farmer, son of Pasquale Giannone, and Rachele, age 22, daughter of Giovanni Pietronigro, living in Colletorto. These parents names agree with the names given me by Connie Sciara Zona based on records for her ancestor, Constanza Giannone, who we now know was Pasquale's sister.

Documents from Archivio di Stato, Campobasso, Italy, April 16, 1853 hour 23: (rough translation) Giacomo, son of Pasquale giannone, occupation peasant farmer, living in Colletorto presentad a male baby born of Rachele dau of Giovanni Pietronigro, age 22, living "coresso" and fo the informatnt, age 33, occupation listed above, lving in Colletorto, born April 16, hour 21 gives us an ifnfant named: PASQUALE. Baptized: Pasquale Giannone April 16, 1853.
14. conversation with Marguerite Giannone Castelli 1999, Also, see St. Joseph's cemetery listing described below, she remembered her grandmother (his wife) coming to live in Auburn after he died, sometime in the 1920's when she was small. Pasquale may well have stayed in Italy all his life. Contrary to this, I found that the burial of Giannone, Pasquale is indicated at st. Joseph's cemetery in Auburn, showing he died Nov 11, 1917 in Auburn of heart failure and buried at 29/15A/1-SW which is right next to Philomena, which fits with his being her husband. His death certificate gives the date of death as 1AM Nov 21, 1917.
15. personal correspondance from Dianne Castelli, from her mother 1999, Maiden name (Dianna) found on her death certificate from records of city of Auburn. This also gave her father's full name and the first name of her mother, as well as her birth and death dates.However, on Ellis Island record of her immigration, it shows her name as Filomena Janno. However, since the letter J does not exist in Italian (or at lest is very rare), it is likely that this was a misinterpretation of the original record.
