I am looking for some lost relatives...
and learning alot along the way!
So far the following names have surfaced; I will try to add on as more appear.Send me a note if any combinations look familiar!

Baker, Coovert, Green, Womble, Leak, Leach, Holden

Long, Padgett, Balance(Ballance), Gastineau(and possibly Gaskins), Eudaly, Barber(Barbour), Brainerd

Christman, Hornby, Bartholomew, Graham, Gibson, Miller

Leaks showed up in Sacramento, California, in 1860.
Most of the Longs and Padgetts seem to hail from Indiana and were there by 1860, and many of the others familys went through there, including Eudalys.

I have found my Irish ancestors! John Ballance and his wife came from Ireland between 1840 and 1850, right during the great Potato Famine. John's son Jacob was born in New Brunswick, Canada, in 1852. John's Daughter, Rose Ballance, married Adam Gastineau and their daughter Mary Ellen was born in Indiana in 1889. She was my Great Grandmother, and died in childbirth in 1920. Her son, John Andrew Long, was my grandfather. This was my biggest 'brick wall' when I began, as I did not even know Mary's first or maiden name.

Hornbys, Gibsons and Millers are Montana and Christmans are Colorado and Ohio. Other names are Frey (pronounced fry) and Clapp.
