Robert and Florence met while living in Florida Mesa, just outside of Durango. They eloped to Aztec, New Mexico. There are two articles on them from the Durango Herald. Both articles were done on their anniversaries, 50th and 63rd. Robert outlived Florence by a few years. They were collectors of a lot of antiques. He worked for the City of Durango and retired from the State Highway Department in 1960.
