On 13 May 1961, I was born Mark Evan Christie to Sally Christie, at Lenox Hill Hospital, Manhattan, N.Y. Sally was born about 1941 and was raised in the northeastern U.S. Sally lived at Washington Square Maternity Home during her pregnancy, 65 East 82nd St., and surrendered me to the Spence-Chapin Adoption Agency, which subsequently placed me for adoption in the family of James Darwin Grooters, 26 Sep 1927-22 Jul 1993, son of Albert, 17 Aug 1893-Jan 1977. My partner in Life is Tamara Lynn Banavige, 25 Dec 1964- , daughter of Daniel Thomas Vincent, 9 Sep 1941- .
I am principally reasearching my blood lineage, Christie, but am also working on lineage by adoption, Grooters and Duven, as well as the lineage of my partner Tamara, Banavige and Mutchler.

I am also very interested in contact with anyone who was at The Washington Square Home, whether or not you knew Sally, or who has any information whatsoever about this maternity home.
