Researching the descendants of John (Johannes) Christian, b. Jan 20, 1786 in Frenkendorf, Switzerland, immigrated to America on Aug 4, 1804, ultimately settling near Reading, PA, married to Margaretha Deem, and died at Reading on Aug 16, 1869. Have large collection of family heirlooms and archives including John's family bible with notations in his own hand, several handwritten books of his thoughts and musings, photos spanning six generations, etc. and list of all known descendants.Eagerly seeking information concerning descendants of his brother Hans Jakob Christian, b. Oct 4, 1790 in Frenkendorf and known to be living in Shenandoah County, VA in mid-1850's. Possibly married to Elizabeth Haller in Oct 1832 and fathered a son William Christian in 1833.Hope to organize first reunion of descendants of these two brothers in Aug 2004 - the 200th anniversary of the family's arrival in the new world.
