"The Burkhatler, Brunette, Smith, Sasser, Scalf, of Tx., "

I am researching the surnames, Burkhalter - they were in Calver, Robertson County, TX. around 1905-1910. Thomas Elam Burkhatler married Viola Brunette. She and her family were from New Baden, Robertson County, TX.

Also the surname John Lovett. Father Alfred W. Lovett, born in TX in 1879, mother Kate Haywood (I believe she was from OK.). They had 3 children, John, Alfred, and a girl that was born in Ok and died at a young age. Alfred died around August or Sept of 1931. John married Eva Smith, on Sept. 22, 1931, in Canton, Van Zayant County, TX.
Alfred abd Kate were divorced when the children were young, she moved to Houston, and remarried, Alfred remarried and had several more children. I found Alfred and his father and John, and Alfred Jr. in Marshall, TX, Then they moved to the Dallas area. So If your Lovett matches any of this background I would love to exchange information.

The surnames Coker, Lane, and Smith I have some trouble following because they are laced with Indian blood. (I have some old, old pictures of this family line.) They came from the Texarkana, Mt. Pleasant area in TX. with some coming from AR. and OK. So if you are looking for these we can compare notes.

Then we come to the Scalf, Scasser, surnames. The Scalfs were in Tyler, Smith County in the 1800's. William Scalf was married and had a number of children when his first wife died, he then married Anne Bell Sasser from AL.
