CHRISTOPHERSON HISTORY: maternal ancestors:(see outline descendant report for: LARS PETER ANDERSON) LARS PETER ANDERSON m. ELIZABETH JACOBSDATTER and lived in Norway. Their son: JACOB PEDER LARSEN m. HELENA PETRINE MATHIASDATTER. They had three children in Norway and then sailed to America; settling in Lansing, Iowa for 11 years, having 6 more children. Their last born and son: JULIUS J. DAHL was born on Christmas day, 1879 in Brookings, SD. JULIS m. ANNA MATHILDA PETERSON. They had 8 children and lived in South Dakota. MCCOY HISTORY: MATTHEW MCCOY m. ALICE MURPHY and immigrated to Canada from Ireland with at least one son: DANIEL MCCOY b.May 10, 1837 m. ELIZABETH O'NEIL of County Cavan, Ireland -- married in Perth, Canada. DANIEL later became a citizen of the United States in Marquette,Michigan. His three sons settled in Wisconsin (DANIEL MCCOY), Minnesota(STEPHEN MCCOY) and(JOHN MCCOY). Our family tree branches down from STEPHEN MCCOY of Meeker County, Minnesota. STEPHEN MCCOY first married MARGARET (ENRIGHT) MCCOY; having two children MARY (MCCOY)TURCK, AND JOHN MCCOY. STEPHEN MCCOY's second wife was NELLIE (ROBINS) MCCOY; children: MARTIN W. MCCOY, DANIEL MCCOY, ADELINE (MCCOY) JOHNSON, MARGARET (MCCOY) JOHNSON, JOSEPH MCCOY and HELEN ROSALIE MCCOY. Family surnames descending JOHN MCCOY (my paternal grandfather) are: STRAUS, CALDWELL, WEGNER, LOCHER; AARSETH, HOLSTAD, FLEISCHHACKER, LENSING, CARDA, LANKEY, ATKINSON, SCHULTZ, MAHLEN, OSTENDORF, SAND, CHRISTOPHERSON. I am researching the history of the two brothers; DANIEL MCCOY and JOHN MCCOY, as well as the ancestors of my forefather MATTHEW MCCOY. Helpful advice on researching Ireland's genealogical information (as well as Canada's) would be helpful. |
