He married (1) MARTHA JANE SMITH. She was born 1830. He married (2) MARTHA T. MCCOY September 19, 1872 in Pike County, Kentucky. She was born 1847 in Pike County, Kentucky or West Virginia. He married (3) CHARLOTTE "LOTTIE" LUSK September 26, 1886 in Pike County, Kentucky. She was born April 21, 1855 in Micaja Ridge, Wyoming County, West Virginia, and died September 20, 1938 in Wyoming County, West Virginia.

Joseph Church 2nd Lt., Co. A.. 7th Battalion Confederate Cavalry of Virginia. He was dropped from the rolls by special order 70/6 dated 3/25/65 for prolonged AWOL. Previously served in the VSL.

Notes for JOSEPH CHURCH:
The information below for the marriage records for Joseph leads me to believe that Joseph married at least three times. His first wife according to census was a Martha Jane, somtimes listed as Jane in census records. But the records I have received from Pike Co. Ky. lookups leads me to believe that he married another Martha. The records below state she was a Martha McCoy. They married in 1872. Then in 1886 he married "Lotty" Lusk. Later on in Wyoming Co. Census Records her name is stated as Charlotte.. Thanks to my cousin Doug Bishop and a friend of his Glenna who did these lookups
