* Marion Harris Cianciolo's Family Home Page*

Updated September 9, 2008

The purpose of this home page is to create a place where members of my family can find all the current research that I compiling on our family. I have been working on our family file for about 10 years, and have found that it has become easier with the addition of many new web resources. In contrast, I have been more likely to find misinformation as well.

I became interested in researching my family after reading a little book entitled, Grandmother Dear, written and published by my paternal great grandmother, Agnes Helene Roueche Harris in 1937. She lovingly wrote this book in to honor the life and ancestory of her grandmother, Hanna Eliza Smith Roueche from Lincolnton County, NC.

In June,2008, I had the opportunity to visit the grave of "grandmother dear" at the old Lutheran cemetary in Salisbury, NC. with relatives I met for the first time who live in Salisbury. I also toured the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Salisbury and read the plaques on the front of the church honoring my Roueche ancestors. This "tour" was documented by cousin Terry Roueche, his wife Caroline, and film director, Louis. It will be a small part of a documentary they are producing on searching for family similarities. This documentary took them to France in June where they met numerous Roueche relatives.

I will travel to Salisbury again next week (mid-September) with my first cousins, Paula and Eric, to see the church and cemetary, as well as meet our great Aunt Millie Rhinehardt and her family in Charlotte. Research is great, but you have to have the human element for it to come alive. I hope to start where Agnes Harris left off, and write more of our story.
