      1. Thomas1 Loudon was born in Ireland, and died Bef. June 1812 in Morris Twp., Huntingdon Co., Pa1. He married Catherine Unknown. She died Aft. 18202.

Notes for Thomas Loudon:
      Thomas was a native of Ireland, and when a youth came to eastern Pennsylvania, where he settled in Lebanon some time prior to the Revolution war, in which he served in one of the Continental armies. He reared a family of 5 boys and 2 girls. He followed mining and some time after the war he removed from Lebanon to Etna Furnace, and from there to Huntingdon Furnace where he resided till his death.

      He was listed in the Annville Twp, Dauphin Co.,Pa tax assessment in 1800.
      He was listed in the Morris Twp., Huntingdon Co.,Pa tax assessment records for 1809, 1810, 1811 with 1 Cow - $6.

Catherine Lowden Adm. of Thomas Lowden Dec'd      

      Memorandum, Letters of Administration in common form were this day granted to Catherine Lowden administrator of Thomas Lowden, deceased. Inventory to be exhibited on or before the eleventh day of September next; and a just and true account calculation and reckoning of her said administration on or before the eleventh day of August in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen or when they are legally required.

            At an adjurned court held on the 16th day of June 1812, before the Honorable Jonathan Walker, Esquire, Joseph McCune, Esquire, who was afterwards joined by David Stewart, Esquire.
      The Petition of John Scott was read as follows to wit; To the Honorable Judges of the Court of Common Pleas in and for the County of Huntingdon now composing an Orphans Court in and for the said County. The Petition of John Scott respectfully sayeth that James Lowdon a minor under the age of fourteen years, a son of Thomas Lowdin late of Morris Township in the said County deceased is now residing in the family of your Petitioner, that he has no person legally authorized to take care of his person or estate, and therfore prays your honors to appoint a suitable person as guardian for that purpose. Whereapon it is considered by the court and ordered that Conrad Bucher be and he hereby is appointed guardian of said minor.

Conrad Bucher was living in Alexandria, Porter twp. at that time as was John Scott.

In the Huntingdon County tax records for the years 1823 thru 1828 ( he was scratched off this year ) lists George Lowdon in Morris Township with one occupation. He was listed as a single freeman up until 1826.
