* Alan Clayton - How I got here & why I'll stay after I'm gone*

Updated December 16, 2006

Way back in the 1970's, I had heard that my fathers sister - Gladys - had said she was starting a family tree. Following her death, we tried to find what she had done but only managed to discover an old photograph album with pictures of some relatives and their names. Nevertheless, it was enough for me to catch the Geneology 'bug'. I dedicate what I have discovered so far to the memory of Aunt Gladys because without her, this research project would not have taken place.

Readers should note that it is an ongoing project - and by no means complete in terms of data for the persons listed. There is much work to do but, the data given is correct and verified from Parish records, census returns, birth certificates, family knowledge, etc.

The most amazing feature to come out of my research is the fact that at the time of starting, I had so many living relatives I never knew existed. It has been the thrill of a lifetime to contact them and in many cases, meet them. I express my deepest thanks in particular, to Les and Rosemary Limbert in Ramsgate, Kent, and my wonderful family in the U.S.A. who have taken me into their hearts and homes so warmly - and made me their own. I love you guys! And thank you Aunt Gladys for starting me down a road that has enriched my life beyond belief.

If any reader can update any of the missing information, or think they may be a part of my family tree, please, feel free to e-mail me.
