He married (2) MARGARET ELIZABETH MEGGS March 25, 1851 in Bibb Co., AL, daughter of THOMAS MEGGS and KARENHAPPUCH TUBB. EORGE W./E. ROLISON:
Red hair, dark skin. Family rumors that he was half Irish, half Native American; said to be Black Dutch.

George came to Selma from Bibb Co., AL. He had earlier been in Perry Co., AL, where he first married Pheraby Rials. He was a depot agent. He took the girls to Pierce Springs and lived there while they went to the Woman's College. Then he returned to Selma.

Said to have died of pneumonia.

BENJAMIN RAWLINSON, SR. was born 12 October 1727 in Kent Co., MD, and died Bet. 1790 - 1791.
Prior to the Revolution, in the 1750s, Benjamin Rawlinson and family settled in the forks of the Congaree and Wateree Rivers on land grants given to them by King George of Great Britain. Grants were located 30 to 40 miles below the present day Columbia, SC.

Notes for WILLIAM RAWLINSON:
Left SC and migrated to Autauga Co., AL with some family members continuing on to Texas

Enlisted while residing in Richland District, SC during the Revolutionary War; served under Gen. Moultrie in 1776; in May 1777 was under Capt. Holly Risbey and Col. Sumter. Afterwards he was in the militia.

6. JAMES RAWLINSON, b. Bet. 1762 - 1765; d. Effingham Co., GA.

7. GEORGE RAWLINSON, b. Abt. 1765; m. UNKNOWN.

Thomas M. Owen's Revolutionary Soldiers in Alabama

ROLISON, WILLIAM -Born in 1759 in North Carolina. He stated that he enlisted late in 1776; served at various times under Capt. Hally Risbean, Col. Thomas Sumter, General Moultrie, South Carolina Troops, as a private, amounting in 211 to one year and ten months. He was reared in South Carolina and during his service resided in Richland District. He moved to Autauga County, Ala., in 1822, and was residing there in 1833. He died prior to June 1, 1841.-Jones and Gandrud, Alabama Records, vol. 75, Autauga County, pp. 57-8.
