2. EDWARD2 HALL (ISAAC1) (Source: (1) Edited by William S. Powell, Dictionary of North Carolina Biography, (1899, University of North Carolina Press, Vol. 3, H-K), 11, [John Hall's] father, Edward Hall, a native of Ireland, settled in Pennsylvania abotu 1736 but later made his home in Virginia. In the spring of 1744 Edward married Eleanor Stuart, a daughter of Archibald Stuart, Sr., of the noted family that produced Judge Archibald Stuart, Jr., the Honorable A.H.H. Stuart of President Fillmore's cabinet and General J.E.B. Stuart of the Confederate Army., (2) Southern Genealogies #1, 1600s-1800s, Historical Southern Families, Vol. V, (Genealogy.com, September 29, 2001), "Electronic," 93, Edward Hall emigrated to Virginia about 1736 and settled on the South River, about six miles above the town of Waynesboro, Augusta County, Va.) was born Abt. 1719 in County Armagh, Ulster, Northern Ireland, and died December 1808 in Augusta Co., VA. He married ELEANOR STUART April 24, 1744, daughter of ARCHIBALD STUART and JANET BROWN. She was born Bef. 1726 in Ireland, and died Bet. 1799 - 1802.

Surname: Hall, Gillespy

Edward Hall's father was Issac Hall a physician. The family settled on South River about 3 miles north of present Waynesboro, VA. THis family was from Newry, Ireland.
