| Burning Research questions and MOST WANTED ancestors: Was ELLEN MCCUBBIN or MACCUBBIN the daughter of NICHOLAS MCCUBBIN and MARY CLARE CARROLL? ELLEN's birthdate is unknown. She married WILLIAM STEPHENS who was born between 1775-1777 in Rockingham County, N.C. He died in St. Joseph, Missouri in 1869. Who were the parents of MARY WRIGHT born about 1695 in Baltimore County, MD. Were they JOHN WRIGHT and JANE LAWSON or WILLIAM WRIGHT and ____? BENGER. BENGER's parents were ROBERT and DEBORAH BENGER. I have seen both sets of parents presented for MARY. Researching surnames: BALLEW were found in Stephens, Missouri. Seeking the parents of William James Ballew date of birth April 11, 1837. CARROLL were originally from Kings County Ireland. They emigrated to Maryland. I have traced the family back to approximately the 1660s CHENEY were found in Jamestown, VA or Boutetorte County, VA. Elizabeth Cheney was born circa 1700 EARHARDT from Germany in the 1860's Family history tells of some connection to Amelia EARHART ECHTHERMEYER from New York City 1880's GRIFFITH came to Maryland from an unknown location. Have traced the family back to the 1680's GRIMES possibly from Moberly, Missouri circa 1850's LAWSON traced back to approximately 1630. John Lawson's daughter JANE LAWSON was married in St. Mary's Cloud Maryland in 1669. MCCALL Bridget MCCALL was born January 30th, 1840 in County Cork Ireland. She married PETER SHARON of Indiana. MCCUBBIN Came from Scotland to Maryland. Earliest birthdate 1638. Seeking John McCubbin born circa 1618 MCDOUGAL Annie McDougal emigrated from Scotland to Maghera Ireland to teach school. She married Archibald MCHARG but died in 1870 when her youngest child was only 2 years old. Archibald emigrated with his second wife ANNIE MCIVOR. MCHARG Family legend tells of the GRAHAMs stealing sheep in Scotland in the 1600's and being exiled to Ireland. They spelled their surname backwards....MAHARG and snuck back into Scotland. Earlies known ancestor was John McHarg from Maghera Ireland circa 1800. The family emigrated to Boone County Missouri in the 1870's. RENFRO, JOHN came to Cumberland Ford KY from Scotland. John was born in 1676. SHARON hailed from Indiana. Peter Sharon was born there in 1833 SIMONS TOMASIN SIMONS married John RENFRO in 1698 Presumably in Orange County VA since her children were born there. SKELTON ISRAEL SKELTON was born in 1645 location unknown. He died in Baltimore County Maryland. STANDIFER traced back to Baltimore County, MD 1659 STEPHENS traced back to Rockingham County NC in the 1720's WAITES Seeking the father of Christina Waites. He would have been born approximately 1650. Her mother's first name was Jane, last name is unknown WATKINS. FRANCIS WATKINS was born before 1680 somewhere in England and died April 11, 1696 in Baltimore County Maryland. Date of emigration is unknown. WHITINGTON ELI WHITINGTON married MARY GRIMES and had at least one daughter MARY WHITINGTON. The family was probably in Kentucky or Missouri. Seeking any information on Eli. Wright |
