| David Clark is Searching for: Clark, Cahoe, Brewer, Atherton, Newton, Green, Langford, Ballard, Downs, McCune Vicky Knight is searching for: Knight, Garmon, Frodge, Harris, Masters, Bragg, Runyon, Hurt, Pulliam, Holland, Mitchell, Galloway, Fudge, Smith, Barnes, Chapman The Clarks came to Ky from Md. in 1785. We do not appear to be related to George Rogers Clark. My most desperate hunt involves my 4th great grandfather George Clark b date unknown Md. and d 12-15-1807 in Nelson Co. Ky.. He shows up in Ky. in 1785. Census' say he came from Md. He lives with Joseph Clark who is part of 25 catholic families who formed a pact to come from Md. to Ky. looking for religious freedom. I cannot find any connection between these two though I know there must be one nor can I find George in Md. Are they brothers? Father and Son? Who are their parents? Lucian Knight(b1833 Va. d 4-21-1882 Metcalfe Co. Ky.) is my wifes most important search. He is her 3rd great grandfather. He came from Va. with two brothers abt 1850. Supposedly he fell off his horse and broke his leg in a creek and a local girl(Mary Virginia Pulliam b July 1845 Adair Co. Ky. d 5-15-1928 Metcalfe Co. Ky.) took him home to her house where he later married her and stayed on. His brothers left for who knows where. Who are Lucian's parents and where in Va did he come from? What happened to the brothers? |
