| "Welcome to Texas Partner! We're glad you made it." This is what our ancestors were greeted with some 165 years ago when they entered The Great State of Texas from Missouri. So far on looking back on my ancestors I've found them at the Battle of San Jacinto, fighting off Indians in West Texas, and fighting for the South in the Civil War. Getting Married and raising families in the middle of Indian Country is what they did in the early years. Now it's the hussle and bussle of the big cities for the most of them. I've read about one Jesse Allen Clark being shot and killed in a store in Georgetown, Tx. The year you might ask; no not 1997 but 1871. Over a dog, if you can belive that. They have fought in the Revolutionary War to Desert Storm. The two most famous of these great men were John Berry and Audie Murphy. The Berrys, Clarks, Fishers, and Frosts have served this country and this state. As Congressmen down to a Civic Club President. As you can see we have been a very busy family since our arrival into Texas and carry on the long tradition of hard work and service to this country to this day. If you have any information in which you would like me to add to our Homepage, please feel free to Email or Snail mail me. This Page so far has the Clarks, Berrys, Fishers, and Frost. I'm looking for more info on the Clarks of Van Zandt. Tx. past 1850. I welcome any info on any of the Families as well. Until next time, HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU. |
