He married ELIZABETH MNU Abt. 1800 in Fairfield County, South Carolina, daughter of UNKNOWN FATHER and UNKNOWN MOTHER. She was born Abt. 1775 in North Carolina, and died Aft. 1850 in Tippah County, Mississippi.

      Elizabeth's maiden name is unknown. Some believe it to be Seymore or Pannell.
      On September 25, 1835, Elizabeth Young and her children sold their rights of inheritance to her son Wiley Young.
      Elizabeth migrated west to Pontotoc County, Mississippi, in a wagon train in 1842 with several of her children and other relatives.

            Land Conveyance Records for Phillip Young:     

      Chester County Conveyance, Book S, # 180, Page 146, 12-18-1816: Know all men by those present that I John Coggin of the District of Chester and the State aforesaid, for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to me paid in hand by Phillip Youngue of the District of Fairfield in the State aforesaid, have granted bargained sold and released and by these present do grant bargain sell and release unto the said Phillip Yongue,
      a certain plantation or tract of land containing by estimation two hundred more or less acres, the said land lying and being situated in the District of Chester on the headwaters of Stone's Fork of South Sandy River in the State aforesaid, the same being part of a tract of land containing six hundred and forty acres
      originally granted to Thomas Halsa the fifth day of February one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven under the hand of his Excellency William Moultri Esquire, Governor and Commander in Chiefin and over the said State and having a memorial thereof entered in the Secretary's office in Grant Book RRRR, page 33.
      The said land was conveyed from said Thomas Halsa by bargain and sale to Richard Yarbrough and from said Yarbrough to William Coggin, Senr and from said William Coggin Senr to John Coggin and land is bounded as follows viz:
      Beginning on a chestnut tree on Thomas Rainey's line from thence running to a red oak corner on Henry Martin's land from thence to a stake corner on William Terry's land from thence to a post oak corner on Allen DeGraffenreid's land, thence along said DeGraffenreid's line to a hickory corner on Elams land thence along sain Elam's line to a stake corner,
      thence on a strait line to the fork on a branch above William Price's Mill thence up the East Fork of said branch to William Price's line thence along the line to a Sapanish oak corner on Moore's land from thence along the original line to a post oak corner on Thomas Rainey's land, from thence along said Rainey's line to the beginning corner.
      Together with all and singular the rights members heridetaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining, To have and to hold all and singular the premises heretofore mentioned unto the said Phillip Youngue, his heirs and assigns forever.
      And I do hereby bind myself my heirs, executers and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said Phillip Youngue his heirs and assigns against myself and my heirs and against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part there of.
      Witness my hand and seal this eleventh day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen and in the forty first year of the Independence of the United States of America.

      Chester County Conveyance Book S, # 405, page 329, 1-19-1818: William Terry sold for one hundred dollars to Phillip Yongue, 25 acres, Part of Tract granted to Thomas Halsa, on the Cool Branch adjoining Martin Elams and Phillip Youngue's land.. Witnessed by Christopher Thompson and William Parks.

      Chester County Conveyance Book S, # 561, page 439, 12-8-1818:
      Gan (John) Thompson sold to William Youngue for $300, 86 acres in Chester District on the head branches branches of the South Fork of Little River, adjoining Phillip Youngue, Thomas Rainey, John Stockdale and the widow Atkins lands. Dower release by Jane Thompson

      Chester County Conveyance Book V, # 50, page , 12-20-1823:
      William Halsall to Phillip Young for $150, 80 acres on the Cool Branch of Sandy River bounding lands of Cleighborn Wright, John Wright, and Allen EdGraffenreid, and on Welches Fork, a branch of Sandy River bounding lands of Phillip Young, and Thomas Rainey. Witnessed by John Young and Richard Elam.

      Chester County Conveyance, Book AA page 1, January 1, 1835: Phillip Young of Chester County for $915.00 to Nicholas Colvin, Jr, 305 acres situated on the head waters of Pannell's Mill Creek, a branch of Little River and the head waters of Welshes Fork, a branch of Sandy River in Chester District, a part of two separate grants, one to Thomas Halsa and the other to Nathan Atterbury and bounded by lands of William Young, T Raney, John Wright, Barnet Cassel, Cleighborn Wright, William Hedgepath and John Estes.
Signed by mark and witnessed by Tobias Phillip and Bently Stone.

      Fairfield County conveyance 11-11-1833: Know all men by these present that I William Free for $325.00 paid to me in hand by Phillip Young of Chester District..... two hundred and two acres situate in Fairfield District
      on a branch of Little River commonly called Pannell's Creek and was conveyed by Jacob Stewart to John Young Senior and William Free by a deed bearing date the 11th day of November, 1833. The part to be coveyed here being the one half or 101 acres belonging to said William Free.
NOTE: The John Young Senior referred to here is John, son of William Young.

      Phillip Young died intestate in 1835. Probate September 22, 1835, recorded in Book M, page 375 and Book N pages 351-353. Named as executors in the settlement of his estate in Fairfield County, South Carolina in September of 1835 were: His son, John Young, and Zachariah Pannell.
      Possible relationship of Zachariah Pannell has not been established. Detailed records of Phillip's land transactions, estate inventory and settlement are in my files.

Whereas John Young, has applied to me for letters of administration in all and singular the goods and chattels rights and estate of Phillip Young, late of the district aforesaid, deceased.
      I have and herefore do cite and admonish all and singular in kindred and creditor of the said deceased to have and appear before me at our next ordinary Court for the said district to be holdin at Fairfield Court House on the seventh day of September next to cause if any why the said administrator above mentioned not be granted. Given under my hand and seal this 22nd day of August, AD one thousand eight hundred and thirty four and in the 60th year of American independence. John R Buchanan

      John Young, Zachariah Pannell, and Wiley Young are holden and firmly bound unto John R Buchanan, Ordinary for the District of Fairfield, in the full and just sum of two thousand dollars -lawful money of the said State to be paid to the said John R Buchanan or his S_ _,
      upon Ordinance of this District as their certain attorney or asignee to which payment will and duly to be made as bond in hand,severally and any of us in and any of our Heirs Executors, administrators for the which and in the which jointly and severally formally by these present, traced with our seals and dated the twenty second day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty four.
      The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound John Young Administrator of the goods, chattels and credits of Phillip Young, deceased, do make a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands possession or knowledge of the said John Young, or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons which he shall be witness unto or gain and such goods chattels and credits do and will and truly administor all according to law.
      And do make a just and true account of his actings and doings there in when required by the said Court and all the rights of the said goods chattels and credits which shall be found necessary being first allowed by the said court shall deliver and pay unto such persons respectfully as entitled to the same by law.
      And if it shall here after appear that any last will and testament was made by the said deceased and the same be proved in court and the executor obtain a certificate of the Probate there of and the said John Young do in such case if required render and deliver up the said Letters of Administration then the above obligation to be void or else to remain in full force.

      Where by Phillip Young, late of Fairfield District, deceased lately died intestate leaving while he lived and at the time of his death divers goods,rights and credits with in the District and State aforesaid by means where of the full disposition and power of granting the Administration of all and singular the goods, rights and credits of the said deceased
      and who auditing the accounts, calculations and reckonings of the said Anministration and a final disposition of the same to me is manifestly known to belong, I, desiring that the goods, rights and credits of the said deceased may be well and duly administered Counted and disposed of
      do hereby grant unto the said John Young, in whose fidelity in this behalf truly rely, confide full power by the tenor of these present, to administer the goods, rights and credits of the said deceased which to him in his lifetime and at the time of his death did belong
      and to ask, buy, recover and r_ _ _ _ the same and to pay the debts in which the deceased Word obliged so far forth as his goods rights and credits will extend according to their rate and order of Law being first duly sworn to make a true and perfect inventory and appraisment there of
      and to exibit the same in to the Ordinary Office in Winnsborough in order to be recorded on or before the twenty third day of November now next insuing and to render a just and true account, calculation and reckoning there of when there unto required.
      And I ordain, depute and constitute you, the said John Young, Administrator of all and singular the goods rights and credits of the said deceased. In testimony where of I have here unto set my hand and seal this 22 day of September AD 1835 and in the 60th year of American Independence.

      These are to impound you or any three or four of you whose names are hereunder written to report to all such parts and places in this District as you may directed unto by John Young Administrator of the Estate of Phillip Young,
      late of said district deceased wheresown any goods and chattels of the said deceased on or do remain within such parts and places and which shall be shown unto you by the said John Young and then view and appraise all and every the said goods and chattels , being first sworn to make a true and perfect inventory and appraisement thereof
      and to cause the same to be delivered under your hands or any three or four of you unto the said John Young, on or before the twenty second day of November next insuing. Dated the twenty second day of September 1835 and sixtyeth year of American Independence.

      made oath that they would make a just and true appraisement of all and singular the goods and chattels, (ready money only excepted) of the said deceased which may be shewn them by John Young, Administrator of all and singular the goods righrs and credits of the said deceased, and thay would return a true and perfect inventory of the same, certified under their hands unto the said John Young with in the time prescribed by law.

ORDER FOR SALE      South Carolina By John R Buchanan, Esquire Ordinary\
            Fairfield District for the district aforesaid\
      Where as John Young, Administrator of the goods and chattels of Phillip Young, deceased, has petitioned the court for liberty to sell the personal property of said Estate, and it appearing proper upon due authorization to grant the prayer of said petition this authorization to sell to wit,
      Said authorization to the said John Young to expose for sale at public out cry the property of said estate which may have come into his hands, by the highest bidder or a credit of twelve accrual for all heirs adm, two dollars taking bond with sufficient security for two dollars, and all heirs under each on delivery,
      fifteen days previous notice to be given by public advertisement and a return of the proceedings of said sale truly by him made to the Ordinary Office aforesaid within the time prescribed by law.
      Given under my hand and seal this twenty second day of September AD one thousand eight hundred and thirty five and Am Ind the 66th.
