James Albert Claussen was a farmer. He lived mostly in Jac kson County, Illinois, but also in Iowa. he died of pneumo nia, and is buried at Glenn Cemetery. He had dark hair an d a long beard in the photo I have of him as a young man.

LIZA JANE METCALF:
Eliza and her second husband were residents of the Raddle a rea for some time, then moved to Malden, Missouri. At th e time of her 2nd marriage, she was living at Wagner's Land ing in Jackson Co., and so was John Eggers. After his deat h she moved to Texas, and spent the remainder of her life t here, except for the last few months, which she spent at he r son Otis' home. Her obituary states that she was a lif e long Christian who was converted at the old Bethlehem Bap tist Church, held at the Aldridge school house, 2 miles nor th of Raddle, transferring her membership to the Baptist ch urch at San Angelo, TX.

It is believed that Raymond Hillery Worthen was born a nd raised in Jackson County. The Worthen's owned a 100 acr e farm in sec. 35 of Degognia township, Jackson County, Ill inois, according to the 1907 atlas. They had six children , but only 2 lived to adulthood, Sadie and Clara. Clara di d not speak or hear due to spinal meningitis. She attende d a special school in St. Louis, and the family lived ther e for a time. In addition to farming in Jackson County, Ra ymond served as a police officer while they lived in St. Lo uis. He also was a police officer in Orange, California, wh ere they also owned a grocery store and two homes. Mildre d Rea recalled that besides Jackson County, Mary Jane had l ived near Dubois, Illinois; Malden, Missouri; Pollard, Arka nsas; and finally Orange, California. Mary Jane's uncle Gi deon's will shows her living in Lambert, Mississippi, in 1 917. Much of the time after her husband's death, Mary Jan e lived with her grandson Homer Brandt and his family. Sh e dearly loved children. They are buried in Fairhaven Ceme tery, Orange, California, with some of their children and g randchildren.

Jasper Franklin Claussen was known as "Frank". He wa s a farmer. The family appears to have lived at Malden, Du nklin Co., Missouri during the early years of their marriag e, until sometime between 1909 and 1912. The FARM FAMILIE S OF JACKSON COUNTY, 1920, lists the family at R. 1, Cora , Degognia twsp., sec. 35, and indicates the property had b een in the family since 1870. He and America had 5 children . After America's death, Frank married twice more, but ha d no other children.
His family relates that he was a mean man who beat his so n unmercifully with a buggy whip. A story is told in the fa mily that he once beat a hog to death. He sometimes droppe d an "s" from his name, and his obituary and tomb stone sa y "Clausen".

America Bradshaw Claussen and her husband lost their oldes t child, Lura, to typhoid fever at age 16. America also di ed of typhoid fever 2 years later, at age 41, when there we re still 4 young children at home. She is buried in Glen n Cemetery. After her death, her husband Frank petitione d the court to allow him guardianship over the 3 youngest c hildren in regard to ensuring that the legacy left to thei r mother by Elisha Bradshaw, her father, should be inherite d by them. It was about $500 that the children divided. H er gravestone is inscribed, "A tender mother and a faithfu l friend."
