Samuel William Hill (b. October 15, 1861, d. March 13, 1932)
Samuel William Hill (son of James Napier Hill and Julia L. Kelton) was born October 15, 1861 in Haywood County, Tennessee, and died March 13, 1932 in Mercer, Madison County, Tennessee. He married (1) Mathilda Peoples on June 12, 1883 in Haywood County, Tennessee. He married (2) Mary Emma Kinney on June 03, 1903 in Whiteville, Hardeman County, Tennessee, daughter of J. J. Kinney.
Notes for Samuel William Hill: On the census for 1900, Haywood County, District 1 (page 21), Samuel is listed as head of household; he and wife Matilda had been married for 17 years, had given birth to 5 children with 4 still living at the time of the census - all four were listed. __________________________________ From "History of Haywood County" (1989): "Sam Hill sold his farm at Hillville about 1911 and moved to Mercer, Tennessee."
Note: I'm not sure this date is correct. He remarried and their child died in 1907 and is buried in Madison County, TN. This means to me that they were already living in Madison County in 1907. ___________________________________
