I am reseaching the following families:
-John Ketrand Cleveland(1890-abt1950) family that resided in Franklin County, Lavonia, Georgia and Oconee County, Tugaloo, South Carolina around 1900, 1913.

-Ruben McDaniels Mabry(1872-1959) family that resided in the Union County, Gowdysville, South Carolina around 1900.

-Henry Wilson Seay(1852-1910) family that resided in Haywood County, Jonathon's Creek, North Carolina around 1880.

-David Posey Smart(abt1841-1914) family that resided in Rutherford County, Caroleen, North Carolina around 1880.

    This photo is of Arbuth Martin and Nicie Elizabeth "Lizzie" Smart's gravemarker. Arb is the son of David Posey Smart, 1841-1914, and Priscilla Harrell. Arb and Lizzie are buried at the Rock Hill baptist church in Inman, South Carolina. Their only daughter, Mary Leona Smart is also buried there.

    This is a picture of my uncle Doug's gravemarker. He is the son of James Marion Cleveland and Mary Leona Smart. He is buried at Petty's Evergreen in Landrum, South Carolina.
  • Ruben and Dora Mabry's Grave Marker (92 KB)
    This photo was taken at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Ruben was born in 1872 and died in 1959. That same year Sarah Ann Mabry, Ruben's daughter lost not only her father, but also her husband, Charlie Seay.

    This photo was taken at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Charlie was the son of Henry Wilson Seay 1852-1910. When Charlie's father died he was left to take care of the family. He was almost 40 years old when he and Sarah Ann Seay were married.

    This photo was taken about 1967 in Norfolk, Virginia while Clarence Smart and family were visiting his nephew, Samuel Cleveland and family.
  • Henry Wilson Seay's grave marker (60 KB)
    This photo was taken at the Jackson Grove United Methodist Church located in Landrum, South Carolina. Henry is the father of Charlie Seay. He is buried beside his wife, Sarah Jane Beard. Henry died in 1910, leaving Charlie, the oldest to raise his brothers and sisters.

    From left to right is Henry Wilson Seay, sitting on his lap is Cash Seay, beside Henry is his wife Sarah Jane Beard. Standing behind him is Lizzie Seay, sitting on Sarah Jane Seay's lap is Nora Seay, standing behind Sarah is Fannie Seay, sitting to right of Sarah is Etta Seay, standing behind Etta is Wilson Seay, sitting beside Etta is Charlie Seay and sitting on Charlie is Silas Seay. Several more children were born before Sarah Jane's death in 1906 and then in 1910 Henry died. Charlie stayed with the family until about 1920 to raise his brothers and sisters.

    This is a photo of David Posey Smart born January 01, 1841 with three of his granchildren, Mary Leonia, born March 04, 1908, Grover, born Abt. 1910, and Martin Smart born November 12, 1905. I suspect this photo was taken sometime around 1910 or 1911 at the latest.

    Photo Arbuth Martin Smart born July 28, 1878 and wife Nicie Elizabeth Padgett born January 20, 1886. I suspect this photo was taken shortly after their wedding sometime around 1899 or 1900.

    This photo is of Ruben and Dora Mabry with their children. Sarah Ann Mabry is the third from the right. Ed Mabry was the only son from this family, he is first from the right.

    This is a photo of Henry Wilson Seay and Sarah Jane Beard. Possibly taken on the occasion of their wedding. The couple is buried at the Jackson Grove United Methodist Church in Landrum, South Carolina near the North Carolina state line.

    This photo is of my grandmother's gravemarker. She is the daughter of Arbuth Martin Smart and Nicie Elizabeth "Lizzie" Padgett. She was the only girl in a family of six brothers. She is buried at Rock Hill Baptist church just outside of Inman, South Carolina. Her father and mother are also buried at Rock Hill Baptist.
