I am a descendent of Michael and Elisabeth Ann Clever, who died in an Indian raid in Bethel,Lancaster County (now Lebanon County)Pennsylvania in May, 1757. My grandfather was Samuel Augustus Clever, who lived in Shippensburg, PA. Samuel had 11 children, including my dad, John Samuel Clever of Shippensburg, PA. My great-great grandfather was George Henry Clever, who is buried with many other Clevers at Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg, PA. I am a decendent of Barnhart Clever, a son of Michael and Elisabeth Ann. At present I have more than 900 verified names in my geneaology report. I am still looking for information of an uncle, William George Clever, who raised his family in Akron, OH. He died in 1942. He was married to Florence Gutshall. They had three sons and two daughters. One daughter, Helen, married to John Kovach and Marie, married to Frederick Kutscher of Akron. Sons were John S, Lloyd and Eugene. |
