| RUTH PEARSON Ruth Thistlewood Pearson Ruth T. Pearson formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2009. Born in North Carolina in 1921, Ruth graduated from Mark Twain High School in Stotesbery, West Virginia in 1939. Before retiring, Ruth worked for Provident Mutual Insurance Company for 15 years. She was a kind, soft spoken loving person who will be missed by family and friends. She attended St. Mark's UM Church before moving to Willow Valley retirement community in Lancaster, PA in 1995. While living at Willow Valley she was a member of West Willow UM Church in Willow Street, PA. She was predeceased by her husband, George Pearson, also by her first husband, Benjamin Thistlewood and their daughter, Cheryl Green. She is survived by 3 step children, Anne Schneider and husband Jerry of Glenside, PA, Laurel Pearson of Newark, DE and David Pearson and wife Zelia of Elkton, MD and 4 grandchildren, Felicity, Abigail, Joel and Noah Schneider. She is also survived by 2 nieces. Friends may call on Wednesday, October 14, from 6-8 pm. at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road. A celebration of Ruth's life will be held on Thursday, October 15, at 11 am, at St. Mark's UM Church, 1700 Limestone Road, Wilm., DE 19808. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Road, Wilm., DE 19810. [published 10/12/2009] |
