Updated September 6, 2000The first Clearwater arrived in New Zealand in 1838, Garrett Hopper Clearwater was born in Paramus, Bergen, New Jersey, U.S.A. on 25th May 1816.The New Zealand Clearwater family has printed a book on the family.However I am searching for Clearwater history prior to their arrival in New Zealand.The Klaarwater (Clearwater) name arrived in Nieuw Amsterdam (New York) between 1665 and 1679.I am seeking Clearwaters in New York State, and Klaarwaters from Holland, Belguim.I am very keen to hear from other family members.Related names include: Beekman, Burger, Davis, Deyo, DuBois, Elmendorf, Freer, Helm, Houghtaling, Hoffman, Kortright, Schoonmaker, Terwilliger,Trumpbour, Van Leuven, Van Wagenen, Vernooy, Wood. |
