The information that has been gathered over recent years is being brought together into this website Family Tree. It joins up several dominant families & shows how the branch, to which my immediate family belongs, has derived from all but Wales, of the countries of the British Isles, over the last 4 generations. On my paternal side,there is still a problem tracing beyond my great great grandfather James Cash, an Oil Merchant in Manchester during the first half of the 19th Century. His wife's side - the Hollands - are remarkably well documented. We have Scottish blood on both maternal & paternal lines, as well as Irish & Border blood too, from Northumberland.
A fascinating strand emerges of the importance to this family of 'free-thinking', there being, Dissenters, Quakers & Unitarians in good measure, some 'unbelievers' as well, throughout the past 200 years.
This record has been put together in good faith, from a wide range of sources. Although considerable effort has been made to check for accuracy, I accept that there are some instances where evidence is circumstantial rather than proven. Thanks to further researches, a number of corrections have been made & the Irish line added to in the Autumn of 2009. UNFORTUNATELY, MY 2005FTM VERSION HAS BEEN UNABLE TO UPDATE DATA, SO OLD INFO HAS BEEN REMOVED - TEMPORARILY?
