Clelland Family Home Page

The surnames I am researching are Clelland, Fite, Cates, and Aker on my side of the family. On my wife's side the surnames are O'Connell, Milne, Higgins, and White.
My Great Grandfather, Archie Clelland, Was born 1887 in Lanarkshire, Scotland. He immigrated in 1888 and again in 1892. It is said the family first immigrated to Canada and then on to USA In Oklahoma sometime around 1907 Archie married Verna Bernett Wingo, b. 18 Sep 1891, Nebo, Ky.. Archie abt 1909 visited Edmonton, Ab, Canada, apparentlywith intentions to staay. I believe his brothers were living in that area. He returned to USA sometime after 1910 and settled in Oklahoma, Pittsburg County. He moved to california sometime around 1940.

The Fites are the same fites Descended from Peter Veit

The Cates and Akers at present seem to have come from Ok. and Tn. Ca. 1870.
