SERVICES ARRANGED FOR THOMAS CATES Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today (Friday) at the Harford Funeral home in Hemet for Thomas Jackson Cates, who passed away last Tuesday at the Cates residence on East Johnston street. Mr. Cates was born in Oklahoma on March 12, 1892, and brought his family to California in 1918. He had lived in San Jacinto and Hemet since 1927. Survivors are a daughter, Saundra, of Hemet. Four sons, Billy, who is in the Army Air Forces, Ray Cates of San Bernardino, and Gerald and Glen of Hemet. Also a sister, Tillie Hicks of Oklahoma, and four grandchildren. The Rev. C.B. Darling of the Hemet Methodist church was in charge of the service, with Mrs. Lillian Roberts as soloist. Burial was in the San Jacinto Valley cemetery.
