After my mother's death, I found papers from my aunt. She had researched my mother's side without the aid of computers and the resources that we have now. I was very impressed with the progress that she had achieved. With this information I am able to trace my family back to a John Merck I from Germany and his wife "Miss Waite" from Amsterdam. However I am lacking alot of information on my father's side. So far, I have traced William Erwin Wilson>Alexander W. Wilson>James W. Wilson (who was an engineer for the Western N.C. Railroad). Most of the regions seem to be in Georgia and North Carolina. Any information would be greatly appreciated. |
