I am researching the following families from the West Virginia area: George M. BOSLEY born 1865, supposedly in Dunbar, PA. According to his obituary (1935) he was preceded in death by his brother A. L. (Abraham) BOSLEY who was the son of Samuel and Lydia LISTON BOSLEY of Fayette Co. PA. A.L. BOSLEY was married to Annie FEATHER of Preston Co. A.L. & Annie are buried at Morgantown, WV. George Bosley married Elizabeth H. GREASER, of Preston Co. WV on Sept 7, 1885. Elizabeth H. GREASER b. 1867 d. 1950. George & Elizabeth are buried at Howesville, WV. George and Elizabeth Greaser Bosley had eleven children, all born at Preston Co. WV. Their children are: 1. Mary Catherine b. 13JUL1886 d. 07JUL1946, m. Clarence MANNING 22SEP1910; they are buried at Morgantown, WV. 2. Lula Ada b. 12NOV1889 d. 07FEB1959, m. John H. REHE 26DEC1906 3. Bessie Agnes b. 30MAY1891 d. 11NOV1971, m. Wayne J. ROACH 30MAY1923 4. Cossie Alice b. 17MAY1894 d. 09NOV1970, m. Frank V. REHE 17NOV1914; buried at Morgantown, WV. 5. William Edward b. 21JAN1897 d. 20FEB1976, m. Ruth EVERETT 04OCT1917; both are buried at Morgantown, WV. 6. Doliph J. (Dolphia) b. 20SEP1899 d.13JUL1980, m. (1st) Goldie Wharton 1918, (2nd) Evelyn CHARLTON 31DEC1931; buried at Fredricktown, Greene County, PA. 7. Pauline Thresa b. 27MAY1903 d. 21JAN1992, m. Charles HEPFORD 14JUL1924; both are buried at Fairmont, WV. 8. Lancelot George b. 12OCT1905 d. 31JAN1977, m. Mable TUSING 27AUG1925; both are buried at Morgantown, WV. 9. Orval Sylvester b. 14MAR1908 d. 25DEC1983, m. Leona A. MILLER 30JUL1930; buried at Morgantown, WV. 10. John Clarence b. 29AUG1910 d. 26MAY1971, m. (1st) Bertha HERMAN 08AUG1931, (2nd) Marie LYNN 18MAR1941; buried at Los Angeles, CA. 11. James Gerald b. 05JUN1913 d. 03JAN1965, m. (1st) May Vaugh HULIHAN 24AUG1934, (2nd) Marie HATFIELD; buried at Los Angeles, CA. My father, Jack A. Bosley (son of William and Ruth EVERETT BOSLEY) married Eleanor CORLEY. I have most of her CORLEY line back to the early 1700's, appearing in Culpeper County Virginia and then on to West Virginia. Ruth EVERETT born at Bayard, WV 1894 - d. 1973 is the daughter of O.J. EVERETT 1861 - 1915 and Sarah EDWARDS 1872 - 1942. Then, I married a CLEM. His family is from Lewis County West Virginia. Hugh "Lefty" Clem, my husband's grandfather, was sheriff of Lewis County for 8 yrs. His great grandfather is James Garfield CLEM born 1881, (married Mary DAUGHERTY). James Garfield Clem's parents were John William CLEM born Dec. 16, 1848 and Margaret E. BUTCHER born Sep. 1847. Hugh "Lefty" CLEM married Evelyn Hope BUTCHER of Lewis County. She is the daughter of George S. BUTCHER 1870 - 1927 and Theresa L. BAILY. George S. Butcher is the son of Michael Ervin BUTCHER b. 1839 and Anna E. BANKHEAD b. 1845. Michael Ervin Butcher is the son of Paulser BUTCHER 1815 - 1882 and Margaret SIMPSON 1816 - 1911. |
