The Smith Family Page

I am researching my fathers family SMITH,my father was Wilfred Stanley SMITH born 11.11.1911 in West Hartlepool Co.Durham England he married Elsie May COULDRIDGE on 24.2.1940 in London he died on 23.11.1990. My paternal grandfather was John SMITH born on 23rd February 1864 in Hartlepool County Durham England, he was a merchant seaman working for The Morkwa Gold Estates in Imbrain West Africa dredging for gold. He died on 4th August 1915. He married Annie HIRST born 20th May 1871 in Linthorpe County Durham, they were married on 7th December 1892 in West Ham Parish Church, West Ham, London England.

After the death of my grandfather Annie Hirst married John William Cambridge on 1st April 1916,in Hartlepool Co.Durham John William Cambridge died on 13th Septemeber 1943.

I am also researching the HIRST family name, they originated in Northallerton in YORKSHIRE, England. My Great Grandfather Godfrey HIRST born between 1811/1812 in Northallerton Yorkshire, he married Ann TAYLOR on 7th June 1841.
