The Descendants of Martin Karnowski of Central MinnesotaUpdated September 28, 2008 |
This is the genealogy of Martin and Maryanna Karnowski who emigrated to the United States in 1874 with their three children, Konstanty, Margaret and Elizabeth. The family initially settled in Chicago, Illinois, however, few accurate facts are known of their stay there. Later on Konstanty and his parents relocated to central Minnesota (near Little Falls, MN) where the real story and growth of the Karnowski family began. The research for this Family Tree was done by Eugene (Gene) Karnowski, grandson of Konstanty and firstborn of John and Stella Karnowski. Gene and his wife Muriel spent many hours collecting data on the family, by personal visits to family members, libraries, cemeteries, local museums and by corresponding with cousins, aunts and uncles. Unfortunately when this research was begun, many of the sons of Konstanty had passed away and those who remained, having reached venerable ages, were often uncertain of the facts. It is, however, regardless of the accuracy of the facts, our attempt here to present a story of a remarkable family. It has been my privilege to be the "computer scribe" and compile these notes into a document that can be cherished and passed on to all generations. It will continue to be my privilege to make this a "living document" that will grow as does the family. |
