John ALLEN (b. Abt. 1682, d. October 17, 1767)

John ALLEN (son of James ALLEN and Elizabeth PARTRIDGE) was born Abt. 1682, and died October 17, 1767. He married Margaret HOMES on March 01, 1715/16, daughter of Rev. William HOMES and Katherine CRAIGHEAD.

Notes for John ALLEN:
He was a gentleman in Chilmark; a wealthy man, a large land holder and a speculator. He held the rank of Colonel in the Island militia and was High Sheriff of the county from 1714 to 1733.
