I am researching the CLIFTON family from eastern North Carolina. Thomas Blount Clifton is my great grandfather. He was a lightship captain and lighthouse keeper at Roanoke River light station near Plymouth, NC in the mid and late 1800's. His mother was Elizabeth Blount who descended from the reknowned emmigrant Capt. James Blount.

In addition, I'm researching the WINDLEY family, also from eastern North Carolina. I have information on this particular line that ties in with the surnames of BOWEN, BOYD, and LATHAM. One notable individual in this line is George Lincoln Windley who was a bank official in Washington, North Carolina before the Civil War.

I am also researching the ENOS family from northern New York and the CUMMINGS family from Ontario, Canada. I don't have much information on these two lines, but what I have is included here.

Any information on these families would be appreciated. In addition to any other family members you might know about, I would be very interested in any information you might have about the kind of lives these people led. I would also be happy to share any information I've acquired about these families or others.
