The William Penn Owens Family of East Prairie, Missouri

William Penn Owens (1881-1945) was the son of Loranzo D. (aka Rance) Owens (d.1912) and Alice Swank (1855-1930) of Charleston, Missouri. He married Nevada (aka Vadie) Miller(1884-1973) of Wardell, Missouri.

Loranzo (Rance) Owens was a conductor for the Iron Mountain and "Cat" railroad lines in Southeast Missouri. He had at least one sister, a Mrs. St. Johns who died in Tyler, Tx in 1882. It is believed that he had at least one brother living in the St. Louis, Missouri area with a son named John.

William Penn (Will) and Vadie Owens had four children: Willie Swank Owens (1903-1975), Charlie Miller Owens (1905-1971), Mary Mabel Owens (1908-1995), and George Holloway Owens (1910-1973).
