It has been some time since I've updated this page. Seems most of my links to documents that I added to Roots.web no longer work. I will try to locate documents and add new links, or readd them to current roots web and add new link. This will take a while to get down, so have patients with me.

I am restoring the descendent report of Robert Clyatt today.Please contact me if you see any errors that I need to correct or if you see your name and want to be removed. The individual who wanted to be removed is not included and in order to be added back after requesting to be removed requires a certified notarized letter.
Hopefully, I've got errors corrected, but be my extra eyes and let me know if there are other correction I need to make.

I am removing tree on descendants of Robert Clyatt. Seems I have a individual that does not want his name, or his family members names included. The only way I can do this is to delete this tree. Remove the information from my hard drive, then reload the tree. This will take me awhile to get the tree corrected. In the meantime I do have a tree at Ancestry.com. Send me an email and I'll send you invitation to view that tree.

It has taken me awhile to be able to get to my tree again. There are a few errors you need to be aware of when looking at tree. I have John Cliett as a son of Henry Cliett. This is not true. After reviewing estate settlement, I find John is not listed as a legatee. John is administrator of estate, and with Sarah and Minor J Cliett is guarden of minor children.

As soon as I get my files restored on my computor, I will redo a report of Robert. But this will take some time.

Also record I speak of for Jesse Cliett on the land grant. I went to Richmond County Courthouse to find orginal copy, but there is none to be found. There is deed to Isaac Cliett and two to Jonathan Cliett during this time perior (1790), but no Jesse.

My report on descendants of Robert Clyatt is a long way from being complete. Robert is the first Clyatt I have found in the US, with a petition for land in 1703. After Robert, there was a John Clyatt came to Deleware about 1732 and then Thomas Clyatt came in with Oglethorpe to Ft Fredericka, Georgia in 1735. I have looked, but find no further records on Thomas.

The story my parents were told 25 years ago by Ralph Cliatt, of Cliatt's Sausage in Lincolnton, Ga; was that there were three Cliatt's (2 brothers and a nephew) that Settled around Augusta, Georgia and they are the ancestorys of all the Clia(e)tt's in this area. I find Jesse, Jonathan, and Isaac each purchased about 87 acreas of land on Reds Creek (now Reids Creek) near Augusta from Daniel Richardson.

I can in fact link one of these three men to almost every
Clie(a)tt I meet. Only problem is linking these three men with one of the earlier Clyatt's.
