| Researching families associated with the Martins and Tilleys from Vernon Parish, Louisiana Associated Martin Families Glaspie May be a slang version of Gillespie Killett Believed to originate from Wayne County, North Carolina, migrating to Prattville, Alabama then on to Sabine and Vernon Parish, Louisiana Laurence I have only preliminary information on these families Stanley Associated Tilley Families Bean Migrated from Virginia, Pennsylvania to Texas then on to Louisiana Bryant The "unsolved mystery" of the family. My great grandfather J./Jefferson/John Fred Bryant rumored to be part indian, sometimes indian scout for the Texas Rangers and even a Texas Ranger himself refused to talk about his family other than his brother Thomas Bryant. J. Fred was born in Eldorado, Arkansas and may have migrated with his family to Texas in 1872. He later married Willie Alberta Deckard in Bowie County, Texas in 1891 and settled in Ellis County, Texas before migrating to Louisiana after his wife passed away. He married Callie Bean around 1913 and remained in Louisiana until his death in 1938. His brother Thomas Bryant was born about 1875 and may have lived in Texarkana, Arkansas, with his wife and children, around 1915 through ? Their father's name may have been James F. Bryant and mother's name may have been Edny D. ? Their is a possibility of other siblings. I have been searching for this family for years!! I am willing to share information and, in some cases, may have copies of old photographs. Any information is deeply appreciated. Please check my internet tree for further information. |
