We are descendants of French-Canadian trappers who settled in northern New Mexico, in the area around Taos. The Beaubiens/Clouthiers married into the Valdez/Trujillo and Lovato families.

We are also directly related to Capt.Smith Henry Simpson, who was a prominent citizen in Taos in the mid-1800s. His wife was Josefa Valdez and he was a close friend of Kit Carson. Buried in Taos.
