I'm currently researching family members. Information I have, goes back to Amable Janack, who came accross the border from the US to Canada sometime aruond the turn of the century. His wife's name was Ester. I know they had at least one son, named Abraham Janack, 1895-1968, born Feb 17 in New York and passed away in Spannish Ontario, Canada.
Abraham married Jeanne Potvin, and had ten children:

Abe Gignac -March 23, 1923
Rita Gignac -July 22, 1931
Hazel Gignac -May 25, 1922
Francis Gignac- January 07, 1933
Betty Gignac -September 30, 1943
Blanche Gignac - February 28, 1936
Dennis 'Pigtail' Gignac -March 02, 1940
Jeannette Gignac -
Note the change in spelling as they crossed the border.
