I am researching the following families:

Motters of IL., trying to trace my g-g-grandfather Lewis Motter backwards. Originally from Germany came to US, only information before IL is OH. German spelling Modder, changed d's to t's in US.

Also looking for information on father, mother, siblings of Resin Wilkins (g-g-grandfather) who was born in Belmont county, Ohio on 4/8/1824, moved to New Orleans 1845, moved to Des Moines, Iowa 1848 where he married Martha Henderson and raised 9 children. He served during the civil war with the Iowa volunteers regiment. Also looking for names of his 4th through the ninth children.
