| I am researching the Clowers family name and (on my mother's side) the names of Marral and Edlemon in addition to my wife's family names of Moore, Shepard, and Gibson. All of these families seem to have lived in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. In general, earlier generations lived farther eastward. In particular, I am now trying to trace Harriet Clowers (married to ? Clowers?) from her appearance in the U.S. Census in 1860 in Mississippi backward to her earlier life in Georgia and North Carolina and identify her husband. I would also like to pinpoint the movements of Harriet's son Sidney Eason Clowers from his appearance as a child in the 1960 census to the appearance of his son Doc Columbus Clowers in the early 1900s in Oklahoma. I have about 800 names in my tree and will be sending it soon to the WFT. I would be pleased to hear from anyone who is researching these lines, and my information is available to those who are interested. |
