| Greetings, Most of my families migrated to Tippecanoe County, Indiana. My lines are listed below and you will find my trees on Ancestry.Com. Studying family lines is a long process of seeking each migration point to collect the whole family. Networking together sure helps us all finish this process. I have a number of photographs linked below to view too. I am a member fo the Tippecanoe County Indiana Genealogy Society, The Indiana Genealogy Society and volunteer at the Tippecanoe County Historical Association research library. You can visit these webpages below. Also check out the Tippecanoe County Cemetery Restoration Project where I'm involved in saving our pioneer cemeteries. Enjoy your family hunt. ************* My Great-great grandfather Orrin TERRY was married to Marilla MILLS in Simsbury, Connecticut. Marilla was the daughter of Jared Mills and Susannah Case. They came to Tippecanoe County to save land located around the new village of Granville about 1833 bringing their children. Both Orrin and Marilla died in 1851 and are buried in Greenbush Cemetery in Lafayette, Indiana. Their children were; Orrin Phelps Terry, moved to New Orleans, LA. Charles Mills Terry and wife Lucy Jane Weston who lived in West Lafayette, IN. Samuel Terry married Annette Goodwin, who came and went back to Simsbury, CT. Elizabeth Terry, married to William Collins and their children migrated to Texas. Claiborne Terry married to Susan Roop, who farmed at Granville. George Terry, & Jane Ann Terry who married to Timothy O. Martin of Warren County, IN. There are several descendants still living here today. I am looking for pictures of these early Terry families. Or anyone who can help me identify the photos I have. My Ancestry tree: (Terry Family Tree_England to Tippecanoe County, Indiana) *** GGG-Great Grandfather John Ewry and Mary L. Shill came to Tippecanoe County with their son Jacob from Dayton, Ohio in 1830. This John was born in Frederick Coounty, Maryland and migrated to Montgomery Coounty, Ohio as a young man with his parents. He married Mary L. Shill daughter of Lawrence Schell and Elizabeth Prugh in Dayton, Ohio. His brothers Samuel and William also came to Tippecanoe County from Ohio. Their families lived in the West Point area pre 1850. The father of these three was John Ewry Sr. who lived in Frederick County Maryland in the 1800's. I am stuck at this point on John and his wife Elizabeth Hensey that married April 17, 1800 in the Evangelical Reformed Church of Frederick County, Maryland. Witnesses to this marriage are possible brothers Christian and Samuel Ury. Where did they come from and who is their father? This surname varies quite a bit to these names. [Eury, Ewry, Orrey,Ure/Urey/Urrey & Urie] Much of this family is buried in the Beavertown [aka] Ewry cemetery. My Ancestry Tree; (Eury_Ewry_Uhry Family Tree from Maryland) *** GGGF; John MORRIS and Caroline HORSCROFT married in England. She was born in Kent, England according to her obituary. They came to USA in 1859 with their nine children and migrated to Tippecanoe County, Sheffield township. #1 Son; Walter Morris married Elizabeth LOCK and lived in Lafayette area. She is the daughter of Richard Lock and Ann Morris. Walter served our country in the 40th Indiana Infantry. I'm working on their descendants and any clues for John and Caroline. I would love to copy any pictures on the Morris family. Caroline is buried at Dayton Cemetery in Dayton, Indiana. Ancestry tree; (Terry Family Tree__England to Tippecanoe County, Indiana) *** Also working on my husbands lines. Jonathan Phillips families from Clay township, Hendricks County, Indiana.
