| I am doing research on the family trees of my father-in-laws parents and their families. The main names would be Coates, Coats, Mainer, and Banks. They are mostly in the Buncombe County, North Carolina area. Some are in South Carolina. For anyone who is interested, there is a Banks/Mainer/Coates reunion held the 1st weekend of August every year at the Beech Community Center on Reems Creek Rd. just outside of Weaverville, N.C. which is on the outside edges of Ashville, N.C. The date for the reunion coming up will be 4 August 2002.We have a great time with singing, eating, visiting, etc. There will be more Banks and Mainer's there than Coates, but we are all cousins, etc. and everyone is welcome. Covered Dish/Pot Luck affair. Bring your bunch, your best recipe in a large quantity for everyone to enjoy. Don't forget dessert! Beverages, tableware, condiments, & papergoods on site. I'll share information with anyone and will speak with anyone who wants to contact me. Have a very few older pictures (maybe older than 30 yrs.), and quite a few more recent pictures (up to 25 yrs. back). As always, I will have my laptop, (new) scanner, (new) printer with me. After last years reunion trip the scanner and printer bit the dust and I had to replace them! My mother-in-laws family search includes the names of Brannon & Kemp. I have much more information than what is on the internet but for reasons of room and privacy of living have limited it. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me. I will gladly share all information. My parents search includes the names of Williams, Harrison, Vandever, Wilson, Getter, Greenway, and lots of others. I am especially interested in the Vandever line as I am at a dead end. Please contact me with possibles or if you are interested in something I might have but have not put on the internet. |
